Satch Mosiane's presentation on Tuta management and the safe use of pesticides offered an eye-opening perspective on integrated pest management practices.

An Information Day on tomato production, pests, and safe use of pesticides was successfully hosted at the LDARD Dzanani sub-zone, a collaborative effort between the Limpopo Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (LDARD) and the Agricultural Research Council (ARC). The gathering brought together farmers from the Nzhelele Valley, providing a valuable opportunity for knowledge sharing and skill enhancement.

A dedicated team of ARC researchers, including Jufter Musedeli, Thabang Nkgau, Phetolo Seshoka, and Satch Mosiane, delivered insightful presentations on a range of topics relevant to tomato production. Farmers gained important information on how to effectively identify pests, particularly the leaf miner and whiteflies, and learned various strategies to manage and prevent pest infestations on their crops.

Satch Mosiane's presentation on Tuta management and the safe use of pesticides offered an eye-opening perspective on integrated pest management practices, emphasizing the importance of using pesticides properly to ensure both crop health, environmental safety, and the health of the person administrating the chemicals.

The event concluded with Ramasindi Christopher expressing gratitude to the department for organizing such a high-calibre event, highlighting its significance in empowering local farmers, and enhancing their agricultural practices.
