The Directorate responsible for acquiring land for purposes of land reform in Limpopo has successfully purchase yet another bigger farm in a period of decade. The remaining extent of portion 0 of the farm Zonsbeek 208 MS and portion 0 of the farm Neanderhohle 843 MS, is in extent of 4800.7783 hectares, situated in Musina Local Municipality within Vhembe District Municipality in Limpopo Province.

In terms of the spatial Planning and Land Management Act (SPLUM) spatial targeting, the farm is classified as suitable for farming small stock, large stock and crop production which are in line with the APAP for the Vhembe District. The properties which were previously owned by Dongola trust represented by Mr W.A. Nel, has not been allocated to anyone as of July 2025. During the farm handover by Nel to the department, he explained that they owned the farm for 22 years and it was mainly used for leisure. The farm has plenty of game as Eiland, Impalas, Kudus, Wildbeest, Zebra, Giraffe and Waterbucks.

The event which was held on 11 July 2025 at the farm, was attended by the senior management and other officials of the department, the previous owner, the previous employees and the newly appointed caretaker.  Officials from different directorates were not only in attendance to witness the handover, but also to explain the rules of leasing a farm, and how post settlement benefit works.

The department immediately handed over the farm to Mr. Khuliso Themeli, a beneficiary of State Land Acquisition (SLA) who also has a farm in Musina as a caretaker of the farm until allocation within a period not exceeding twelve months. Themeli is a trusted hard-working farmer who is doing well in farming on his own without help from the department. Themeli will be utilising the farm for farming purposes during this period not exceeding twelve months, guided by the caretakership Agreement.
