The Office of the Regional Land Claims Commissioner (RLCC) in Limpopo led by the Chief Director Tele Maphoto presided over the handover of farm keys to Shamane Magashula Community Land Claim. The ceremony was held at Farm Vrischgewaagd 33 KS near Polokwane, Capricorn District on 18 May 2022.
In finalising the claim of Portion nine, 10, and 11 measuring 54.8709 hectares, the Commission on Restitution of Land Rights (CRLR) has spent over R1.3 million.
To date, this is the 6th phase amongst other properties claimed and approved for Shamane Magashula Communal Property Association (CPA). The first properties were claimed and approved from 14 February 2007 by the Minister of the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development.
The restoration of this prime land has not only brought change in the spatial planning of the then apartheid government, but also the reversal of land ownership patterns where black communities is now having full tittle deeds to agricultural land.
