Mpho Mashamba (Acting Head of Department) in her welcoming note stated that it is business unusual, and all hands are on the deck

Programme managers of the Limpopo Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (LDARD) have committed to zero tolerance to non-performers. The commitment was made during the meeting on Quarterly Performance Review (QPR) at Fumani Game Lodge, on 05 February 2025.

The commitments sought to fast-track the financial performance in addressing the key aspects of agricultural sector, thus expanded agro-processing industry for high value produce; increasing the participation of smallholder and emerging farmers; and improving access to markets for agricultural produce (local and international). This is in line with the resolutions of quarter 3 (2023/24) and quarter 2 (2024/25) in a quest to address the non-performing indicators.

In their presentations, programme managers have highlighted their clear activity plans and catch-up strategies in a bid to close areas of possible underperformance on Annual Performance Plan (APP) targets and Action Tracker to circumvent underspending.

Their activities were supported by timelines indicating the expenditure plan on every programme.

 Key focus areas were on the following strategic issues:

  • Infrastructure Turnaround Strategy;
  • Financial Performance Report per Programme; and
  • Cumulative Performance Review to circumvent underperformance.

Acting Head of Department, Mpho Mashamba, said in her presentation that a War Room multidisciplinary task team was implemented to report on the progress made.

Ramagodi Mashiane, Acting Chief Director for Strategy and Systems, facilitates the QPR session.
