Speaking from the ground work, MEC Kekana said that this is the round up programme emanating from two departments – Agriculture and Rural Development as well as Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure as the implementing agent and also Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA) as part of the implementing agent. “So far as part of our monitoring, we are very much satisfied as to what we are seeing right now”. MEC expressed her satisfaction with the refurbishment of the 6-storey Mzana building of Tompi Seleka College of Agriculture and the fact that it is adhering to the issue of strengthening the capacity of the institution of higher learning.

MEC Rachuene conceded with Kekana that the progress of the work that has been done is at 97% satisfactory. “We just monitor the progress and also assure the people of Sekhukhune and the Province that before the end of this financial year the project will be completed. We shall come back with the MEC to hand over the building officially, but currently we are very happy with the progress that has been done here,” said Rachuene.

An oversight visit is part of MEC’s on-going programme to ensure control of unexpected expenditure or unnecessary delays that could affect the agricultural productivity and rural development.
