MEC responsible for Limpopo Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (LDARD), Nakedi Kekana has visited a sweet potato yogurt-producing-project led by a young farmer, Molatelo Kgarose, at Ladanna, Polokwane and the newly facility in Seshego, Capricorn District on 03 April 2025

The award-winning young farmer is currently produces approximately 100 Litres of Yoghurt per day and has expanded its product line to include ready-to-drink juices and soft porridge, catering to diverse customer preferences. The business has also created four permanent jobs, two of which are held by women, promoting inclusivity and economic empowerment. 

As part of the efforts by the Department to support local Agro-Processing businesses, the MEC along with representatives from the Limpopo Economic Development Agency have visited the new factory to assess its readiness, including its layout, design and processing capabilities.

The initiative is part of a broader strategy to expand and diversify Agro-processing, enhance production capacity, have an autonomous value chain, larger market identification and stimulate economic growth through job creation.

By Supporting businesses like Kgarose Kgaros, the department continues to drive innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development within the agricultural sector.
