Dr Melinda Labuschagne, Chief Director for Agrarian Transformation at Limpopo Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and a commercial farmer: Peter Mockford, Executive Director at Mockford Farm during the farm visit ahead of G20 MACS meeting at The Ranch Hotel.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development delegation led by Dr Melinda Labuschagne had a courtesy visit to Mockford Piggery Farms in Hollandsdrift, Polokwane under the Capricorn District.

The visit by the department was particularly significant ahead of the G20 Meeting of Agricultural Chief Scientists (MACS), with the focus of the meeting stemming from resolving big challenges in agriculture including improving food security, discovering new farming technologies and making agriculture more sustainable, while showcasing the province’s agricultural power to the international sphere.

Mockford Farms (PTY) LTD is a commercial, privately held piggery farm specialising in breeding, production, and processing of premium pork. The farm operates on a vertically integrated enterprise that spans genetics, farming, food processing and retail.
