The MEC for Limpopo Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (LDARD) Ms Nakedi Kekana led the executive committee of her department in presenting the 2023/24 annual report, 2023/24 fourth quarter report, and the 2024/25 first quarter report to the Legislature Portfolio Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development.
Members took interest in the reports, interrogated them, and raised pertinent questions on accountability, of which the department comfortably appraised the committee on developments and programmes in the department.
The committee also requested reports on legacy programmes of the department to better understand operations and have active means to use as a barometer to measure progress.
The committee also commented the department’s work to deal with previous audit opinions moving on a positive trajectory to correct the unqualified with emphasis’ highlighted by the Auditor General in the previous audit outcomes.
MEC Kekana emphasised that her department is committed to drive an ethical, capable, and developmental state as envisaged by the 7th administration of government both at the national and provincial level.
