The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in the Waterberg District, under the Agro-Ecological South-Central Zone, in collaboration with Witlaagte Protective Workshop, had celebrated Casual Day in Rapotokwane with People with Disabilities, creating an atmosphere of inclusion, dignity and community.

The occasion also marked and celebrated 10 years of Witlaagte Disability Centre’s existence and service to the community, providing an opportunity to recognise its contribution, reflect on its journey and celebrate the people at the heart of its work.

The celebration brought together People with Disabilities, including celebrants from Reamogetswe Disability Centre in Bela Bela, who participated in the day’s activities with enthusiasm and joy.

The event featured participation of various government departments, which presented information about the services and support available to People with Disabilities and the wider community.

Representatives from the Department of Health, Social Development, Education, Correctional Services, SASSA, SAPS and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development shared valuable information and engaged with attendees. The presentations provided an important platform for participants to learn about their rights, available programmes and opportunities for support.

The event served not only as a celebration, but also as a bridge connecting communities with services that could contribute to improved livelihoods and greater independence.
