Women Best Dressers awarded tokens of appreciation
Women embrace the progress of government policies and programmes that address the plight of women.
Equity in the workplace and women representation in leadership positions are noticeable across all spheres of government. Even though there are some that still hinder progress such as putting the end to Gender Based Violence (GBV), including femicide among others.
Women in the Limpopo Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (LDARD) used Women’s Month celebration as a platform to reflect on those challenges, recognise those who rose above them and paving the way forward, at Meropa Casino Conference Hall, outside Polokwane.

One of the challenges women are confronted with in order to influence policy making decisions is lack of unity among them, said Captain Reneilwe Kgwali from Department of Correctional Services.
Speaking on GBV, Kgwali indicated that lack of support groups and women supporting each other, exarcebates the situation. With reference to Pheladi Moholo, an Ambassador of both Department of Correctional Services and Polokwane Municipality, Kgwali said in GBV, woman more often started as a victim, but ended up as a perpertrator.
The case of Moholo, who served seven and half jail sentence said she ignored some redflags in her toxic relationship. She urged women to choose self-love and care, over any other….

In her presentation on Mental Health, Dr Ntsakis Ngobeni from Acaso Medicare said in every aspect of life, there are abundance of challenges one has to face. But how one respond to those challenges, is another issue that determines the result of your mental health. She stressed mental wellness as the test. “If you fail to stand up against those challenges, you shall always become a victim of being comforted”, said Dr Ngobeni.
Matsoma Matsetela from KTT Business Solutions reiterated the self-love and care of a woman. She made mention of the wide range of beauty and fashion tips women should consider.
The celebrations in essence, highlighted the contributions and achievements of women given the historical perspective in their respective fields of professions regardless of race, culture and their origin.
History has proven that women have shaped the society tracing back to 1956 where about 20 000 women marched to Union Buildings fighting for their liberation. Since then, great strides have been made to improve the status of women.
