The staging of flea market aimed at providing platforms for farmers, Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises (SMME’s) to showcase their products and services. Farmers had an opportunity to interact and network with other farmers, businesspeople and customers.

Under the exhibition stalls, farmers and SMME’s had wide range of their produce and a well-packaged variety of indigenous produce (raw and processed), beading, crafts, textures and fashion that demonstrate their ability and capability of running successful businesses.

Rosah Ramaipadi, chairperson of MCSA said the direct selling by farmers to the consumers makes reasonable profit than using a middleman.

Ramaipadi encouraged farmers to keep on promoting their organic produce which she said are free from chemicals and fertilisers that continue to destroy the land.
