He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education and Post-Graduate qualification in Project Management as well as CETA qualification in Construction.
He has worked in post-1994 administration in various capacities

Mokone also comes from a Public Service background being one of the people that led the introduction and implementation of the EPWP programme in Limpopo during the early 90’s.
During his tenure as a Civil Servant, he was a pioneer in an organisation managing employment.
