The Limpopo Department of Agriculture and Rural Development invites all interested emerging livestock farmers as stipulated in the Agriculture Development Act 1999 (Act No 8 of 1999) to participate in the Limpopo Livestock improvement Programme (Re-Sale Scheme) 2026/27. The department is in the process of supporting the emerging livestock sector to recover from the effect the recent draught and disease outbreaks (FMD) that has impacted negatively on their businesses. The department has therefore put aside Quality Livestock Genetic Resources in the form of Breeding Stock aimed at supporting the Revitalization and strengthening of the herds and flocks of subsistence and smallholder farmers in the Province. This is done through the “Livestock Re-Sale Scheme” which makes the Livestock Breeding Stock accessible to the farmers at a prescribed developmental tariff.
